The Florida Hospital Annual Strategic Innovation Agenda is a framework from which the Hospital directs its efforts to further the mission of extending the healing ministry of Christ. Leadership Development has developed a program that is directly aligned with the 2009 Strategic Innovation Agenda, the mission and vision of the hospital.

This action-packed, 3-day experience incorporates teamwork and teambuilding, industry standard problem solving methods (DMAIC), is founded in Hospital culture, and facilitates process improvement projects focused on improving quality and safety. Projects are 12 months in duration.  Some teams are self-selected from units or departments, some are nominated by supervisors, and others are members of organized groups such as Nurse Practice Councils.

Each team consists of 3-6 members and includes a management sponsor that will collaborate with teams on areas of concern. Areas of concern could include hand-washing rates, infection rates, patient satisfaction, employee satisfaction, and documented pain assessments. The same sponsor attends the GRI program on Day 1 and Day 3 (for one hour each day) to discuss the areas of concern and approve the project, respectively.

The management sponsor is required to attend a one-time only, 2-hour GRI Certification class that will prepare them for their role in selecting and supporting their teams.

It is the mission of GRI to provide learning experiences that result in team-based, measurable improvements in safety and quality.
Celebrations of the successes in team projects are held bi-annually at (a local, off-campus facility) Leu Gardens in a poster-show format.  Student teams are required to attend one show to present their project outcomes.
